the long and winding road

The long and winding road

(Lennon/McCartney)

The long and winding road that leads to your door
Will never disappearI've seen that road before i
t always leads me here
Leads me to your door
The wild and windy night that the rain washed away
Has left a pool of tears crying for the day
Why leave me standing here, let me know the way
Many times I've been alone and many times I've cried
Anyway you'll never know the many ways I've tried
And still they lead me back to the long and winding road
You left me standing here a long, long time ago
Don't leave me waiting here, lead me to your door
But still they lead me back to the long and winding road
You left me standing here a long, long time ago
Don't keep me waiting here (Don't keep me wait),
lead me to you doorYeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Lennon/McCartney)
a day in life
I read the news today oh boy
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well I just had to laugh
I saw the photographHe blew his mind out in a car
He didn't notice that the lights had changed
A crowd of people stood and stared
They'd seen his face before
Nobody was really sure
If he was from the House of Lords
I saw a film today oh boy
The English Army had just won the war
A crowd of people turned away
But I just had to look
Having read the book
I'd love to turn you on
Woke up, fell out of bed
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up I noticed I was late
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
And somebody spoke and I went into a dream
I read the news today oh boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert HallI'd love to turn you on

Free as a bird
beatles
Free as a bird
It's the next best thing to be
Free as a birdHome, home and dry
Like a homing bird I'll flyAs a bird on wings
Whatever happened toThe life that we once knew?
Can we really live without each other?
Where did we lose the touch
That seemed to mean so much?
It always made me feel so...Free as a bird
Like the next best thing to beFree as a bird
Home, home and dry
Like a homing bird I'll fly
As a bird on wingsW
hatever happened toThe life that we once knew?
Always made me feel so freeAh...Ah...Ah...
Free as a birdIt's the next best thing to be
Free as a bird
Free as a bird
Free as a birdOoooooFree..

Wish You Were Here (Waters, Gilmour) 5:17
So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
Blue skys from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade
Your heros for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees? H
ot air for a cool breeze? C
old comfort for change?
And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.
